Bluehost Website Hosting Review 2020
Bluehost Web Hosting Review 2020
When it comes to webhosting, there is none better than Bluehost as a provider. I say that from over five years experience as a very satisfied customer. I never had an issue with downtime, logging-in, domain pointing, SSL or anything else that gives hosting companies a bad name. Now, I am not a serious marketer by any stretch, just an ordinary Joe, yet currently I have four websites on my hosting plan and couldn’t be happier or more pleased with Bluehost. My websites are all WordPress based and for that reason, my selection of Bluehost as a hosting provider is well founded on favorable reviews and past experience.
What do we look for from a hosting organisation is the first question that everyone who is thinking of creating their own website asks themselves. Price, always not far from the top of the agenda, performance and reviews are some of the other considerations, people will always look at. For the beginner, who is starting out as an affiliate marketer or blogger, then Bluehost will tick all the boxes on that front. Like all other hosting companies, Bluehost has different Plans to suit the needs and also each plan category has different price points. The fact that there are a good number of hosting organisations to choose from is always great for the customer as competition is always good for the consumer.
Let’s look at Price;
When it comes to setting up a website, which is daunting in itself, especially for the newbie, price will always enter the equation. We are looking for the best value for money, but at the same time, we need something that will be functional and also serve a purpose for us. That is where Bluehost comes into the picture. We can see from the image above, that we can start hosting for approx $2.50 per month plus vat. Along with that great offer, please note that that plan comes with an initial subscription term of 36 mths. However, that offer only accommodates one website.
We would be better off to opt for the middle or third plan, which is slightly more expensive, but we would be able to have as many websites hosted therein as we wished. There are extra benefits included in the second and third plans, but the unlimited website hosting capabilities that comes with these plans, carries the day for me. I opted for the middle plan back when I signed up to Bluehost hosting as it was the most appropriate for me. That is the beauty of Bluehost, it has a package that caters for allcommers and like we mentioned earlier, they are very easy to deal with. The other interesting added feature is they throw in a free domain for 12 months, thereafter, we will have to pay for for the domain ourselves. A domain costs approx $10-$12 per annum, so it’s not overly expensive.
What else needs to be Considered….
Customer support is critical for the person who is just starting out on their online odyssey, as they may need some guidance along the way. We may have issues with how to connect domains, explaining hosting and connecting WordPress to our domain and hosting. That is where Bluehost has excelled so far. I can vouch for that and can say with hand on heart, Bluehost goes above and beyond what is required, when it comes to customer service.
Just for the uninitiated, Bluehost has three areas of support for our benefit. We can avail of their free phone no., especially if we live in the US. There is online live chat 24/7, which is excellent, which is the source that I use, there is a Contact Us messaging service and we also have Social Media, which is excellent as well. Along with that there are tutorial videos and there are explanatory help pages within Bluehost’s website. It’s worth noting that Live Chat is not as fast or as efficient as it was previously. This is because some of their ( Bluehost ) customer service representatives are working remotely due to Covid-19.
Is our Website Secure;
Given that we do so much business online and if we have an eCommerce website and may be doing financial transactions from same, we need to know if our website is secure. Have no worries here on that note as Bluehost has some of the best security arrangements, when it comes to securing our website from hacking or other interference. If we look at the pricing image above, you will see that an SSL Certificate comes with each of the three plans.
What is an SSL certificate…? (SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer ) What this means is that any website hosted by Bluehost has this cert included with their hosting and thus prevents hacking or phishing of our sensitive financial or personal details. One other way of checking to see if our website is secure is, on checking the url of our site, if there is a padlock image before the domain name of our site, then we know it’s safe and secure. Look at the above screenshot of this website ( envatrybe.com ) and you can see the padlock, as per red arrow.
WordPress recommends:
On this post, Bluehost website hosting review 2020, what I have reviewed is the very basic information for the newcomer and to give an overview of what Bluehost has to offer. Again, as I said earlier I am not a serious technical online marketer by any stretch, just an average online novice, hoping to make some money for my efforts, sometime. So, with that said, I have come across concrete evidence, if it’s ever required, as to how good Bluehost is perceived and recommended from the greatest of sources.
WordPress themselves have no qualms about referring Bluehost as their preferred hosting partner and says so on their own website. Check the image for reference and you can also check it out for yourselves by going to their website, WordPress.org. That is the best proof available right now, ( straight from the horses mouth ) if we ever need evidence of which is the best hosting company to choose.
