Leadpages vs Clickfunnels – Which is the best option
Leadpages vs Clickfunnels – Which is the best option;
Most of us have heard of Leadpages and also of Clickfunnels. Both being giants in the field of sales funnel software. However, there are differences in several areas of their business strategies and their price points. Clickfunnels for instance, their starting price is $97 per month and that gives us the ability or option to create 20 Funnels with 10 pages in each. As soon as that package is used, you then have to upgrade to the CF premium, which costs $297. Man, that is a serious price to pay each and every month.
Leadpages on the other hand, their starting point is $25 per month ( if we pay annually ) it’s $37 if we decide to pay monthly. That gives us the ability to create 10 Funnels or Landing page websites, also with 10 pages in each. If that will not be enough for our needs, we will have to upgrade to the next plan, which costs $48 per month ( if we pay annually ) or $79 pm if we pay monthly. There is a higher plan in Leadpages, if we wish to upgrade further within Leadpages. So straight away, we can see the difference in cost and it’s quite substantial, especially, if we are just testing the water and looking for value for money.
A little History Lesson on Leadpages & Clickfunnels;
Both companies or organisations were founded in or around 2014 and have being growing steadily since then. Both organisations have their own different slant on how they run their ships and how they manage their funnels. Leadpages have some extras which Clickfunnels don’t have and vice-versa. Russell Brunson have made some controversial remarks about what CF can do for people. For instance, he has been “quoted” as saying that for students, instead of paying for university tuition, they should join CF, whereby they will become millionaires if they follow his course teachings. Their money would be better spent to follow his online courses and it would be more advantageous for them to join Clickfunnels and learn how to start their own business. Not sure about that proposal…!
Certainly that is big talk from the Brunster, but hey, take out of that what you will. Leadpages on the other hand make no outrageous claims like above, but are running their business in a professional and ethical fashion. They were founded by three US entrepreneurs namely Clay Collins, Tracy Simmons and Simon Payne. They have guided us along a steady path so far and the way their organisation is set up, it’s really easy to get a business up and running using Leadpages.
I am Biased, but I am Honest;
I am definitely biased, but I am being totally honest in this comparison post on Leadpages vs Clickfunnels – which is the best option. I had signed up for a subscription with Clickfunnels approx 2 yrs ago and held same for 12 months. To be honest, it was expensive. Now I have a fully paid up annual sub. with Leadpages. Being honest as I said I am, Clickfunnels is the Rolls Royce of Sales Funnel building software, that’s available right now. There are so many options within CF, honestly, you would need to be technically astute, to properly utilize all the optional possibilities within their menu. Actionetics, for example is there own in-built autoresponder, which handles all the email marketing. Backpack, is an affiliate program also built into Clickfunnels and there is a ton more of like minded options, such as Wasabi and Pypeline.
Leadpages on the other hand can handle email campaigns as we can integrate autoresponders like Mailchimp, GetResponse, AWeber and many many more. It’s a simple exercise of following the tutorials in Leadpages to get that task up and running. In all honesty, both companies are in the same online industry sphere, ie, landing pages, funnel building software and are approx 90% similar. The rest is their own different personal extras, as we have outlined above.
Can I have a Trial Period;
Yes, absolutely. Both have a 14-day trial period, which we can trial and test all the software for suitability and ease of use. That is ample time for us to get our hands on all of the options within these funnel builders and software. But there is a difference. Clickfunnels needs your Credit Card details in order to complete the set-up for our trial period. They are pushing the envelope as far as they can here. However, with Leadpages, you do not need to provide your Credit Card details to commence our 14-day free trial period. I think that is a fair approach and as such, Leadpages are not overly pushy or salesy.
A look under the hood of Both;
Lets look at Leadpages and just like with ClickFunnels, you don’t need to know html, coding or have any technical experience in order to create award winning landing pages or sales funnels. Leadpages has a similar drag ‘n drop page editor to CF. However, the biggest benefit of LeadPages is their built-in, pre-made templates. Simply change the text and add a few images on the already made pages and you’re good to go. The drag ‘n drop editor still has a long way to go before it feels like Clickfunnels editor and menu.
Leadpages is perfect for beginners who are just starting out and are looking for a simple online software that’s also budget-friendly, as we outlined above. Using Leadpages is a very intuitive and rewarding experience. Even if you’ve never created a sales funnel or landing page before, you’ll feel confident using Leadpages on your first attempt.
Clickfunnels on the other hand are a very different animal to Leadpages. As I said above, CF are the ‘top of the range’ of the funnel building industry. Again, it’s so difficult to explain, take their templates for starters, now, these are very customizable, compared to Leadpages. Yet, when the dust has settled, I don’t think the customer will notice, which landing page or sales funnel is better than the other, or indeed who created it.
My Final Thoughts;
By now, you have probably guessed that I have leaned towards Leadpages. I am not a serious marketer by any stretch, but I have tried both and it comes down to price and affordability for me. Like we said earlier, they both will serve mostly the same purpose. They will both do a good job in getting our business found online, which is what it’s all about today. The beauty about funnel builders is that we don’t need the stress or grief of having a website and trying to keep that maintained and updated, plus all the fees associated with that task.
